PROCEDURE FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF A MEMBRANE, ESPECIALLY FOR THE INTERIOR AND EXTERNAL LIMITS, WITH WHICH RESULTS VARIOUS EFFECTS ON THE POROSITIES OF THE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL SURFACES. IT CONSISTS OF A SOLUTION FOR SPINNING BASED ON 8 UP TO 25 PER 100 BY WEIGHT OF CELLULOSIC ESTER, 55 TO 92 PER 100 OF SOLVENT, AND EVENTUALLY UP TO 20 PER 100 BY WEIGHT OF OTHER ADDITIVES, IS PRESSED THROUGH A ROW SUBMERGED IN A PRECIPITATION BATH, SUBJECTING TO THE SOLUTION JET TO THE COAGULATING EFFECT OF THE BATH IN THE LIMITS OF THE JET OVER A SECTION OF AT LEAST 30 CM. IT IS THEN REMOVED FROM THE BATHROOM AND WASHED WITH WATER, IMPREGNATED WITH PLASTICIZING SOLUTION AND DRIES AT A TEMPERATURE NOT EXCEEDING 70C. THE MEMBRANES CAN BE CONSTITUTED BY HOLLOW WIRE, HOSE SHEETS OR FLAT SHEETS, AND IN EACH CASE THE APPROPRIATE DEVICE IS ADOPTED FOR THEIR FORMATION.
