A PRE-POLYMER COMPOSITION IS PREPARED, CONSTITUTED ESSENTIALLY BY ADIPIC ACID, DIMER FATTY ACIDS AND HEXAMETHYLENEDIAMINE, OR THEIR CORRESPONDING SALTS, SO THAT THE NUMBER OF ANIMATED AND CARBOXYLIC GROUPS DOES NOT DIFFER BY MORE THAN 5 PER 100. THE MIXTURE IS HEATED PROGRESSIVELY AND REGULARLY UP TO 270C, AT A WATER PRESSURE BETWEEN 13 AND 25 BARS; ONCE EQUILIBRIUM IS REACHED, IT IS HEATED FOR SEVERAL HOURS BETWEEN 270 AND 290C, AT THE SAME WATER VAPOR PRESSURE, AND, FINALLY, IT IS SUBJECTED TO POLYCONDESATION WITH HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT PRODUCTS, AT TEMPERATURES BETWEEN 190 AND 280C. THESE PRODUCTS ARE APPLIED TO OBTAIN PLASTICS.
