PROCEDURE TO PREPARE CALCIUM SODIUM PHOSPHATE OR CRYSTALLINE LITHIUM IN THE FORM OF ASBESTOS. UNDER REACTION CONDITIONS A SOURCE OF OXYGEN, CALCIUM, FORPHOR AND SODIUM OR LITHIUM IS COMBINED, WHERE THE MOLAR RATIOS ARE APPROXIMATELY 15 TO 30 PER 100 IN MOLES OF SODIUM OR LITHIUM OXIDE, 48 TO 60 PER 100 IN MOLS OF P2O5 AND FROM 20 TO 37 PER 100 IN MOLES OF CAO TO FORM A MIXTURE OF SALT PHOSPHATE. THE SALT PHOSPHATE MIXTURE IS KEPT AT A TEMPERATURE BELOW THE MELTING POINT OF CALCIUM PHOSPHATE AND SODIUM OR LITHIUM FOR A LONG TIME TO FORM CALCIUM PHOSPHATE BLOCKS, AND LASTLY THE FIBER BLOCKS ARE GIVEN THE FORM OF ASBESTIFORM CRYSTALS. THEY ARE USED, MIXED WITH OILS, AS LUBRICANTS FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE, AS THERMAL INSULATORS, AS REINFORCING AGENTS FOR CELLULOSE FIBERS AND PAPERS AND OTHER VARIOUS USES. |
