METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AN ACRYLIC RESIN AS A STABLE DISPERSION OF MICROPARTICLES. A MICROGEL EMULSION IS PREPARED BY THE POLYMERIZATION OF THE EMULSION IN WATER OF A MIXTURE OF ETHYLENICALLY INSATURATED MONOMERS. AN ACRYLIC RESIN IS PREPARED BY POLYMERIZING TWO OR MORE ETHYLENICALLY INSATURATED MONOMERS IN AN ORGANIC SOLVENT SOLUTION. THE COMBINATION OF EMULSION AND RESIN IS DEGRADED WITH A MULTIFUNCTIONAL AGENT, THEN PROCEEDING TO DEHYDRATION BY AZEOTROPIC DISTILLATION. OF APPLICATION TO THE FORMATION OF FILMS FOR PAINTS WITH HIGH SOLID CONTENT. |
