THE QUATERNARY SALTS OF FORMULA (II) ARE OBTAINED BY REACTION OF 4-METHYL PYRIDINES WITH AQLUILATION AGENTS AND THE ALDEHYDS OF FORMULA (III) ARE OBTAINED BY SUBMITTING THE CORRESPONDING TERTIARY AROMATIC AMINES TO FORMILATION. POLYACRYLONITRILE MATERIALS AND OTHER APPLICATIONS OF CATIONIC DYES ARE USED FOR PRINTING AND DYING. *FORMULA*
