titleOfInvention CHEMICAL PURIFICATION PROCEDURE OF NAFTALENE
abstract Naphthalene chemical purification process, characterized by the fact that they consist of, a) sulfonating, at least in part, the naphthalene to be purified, by reaction with sulfuric acid, continuously eliminating all water from the reaction medium by azeotropic distillation, by means of one or more saturated aliphatic and/or saturated cycloaliphatic hydrocarbons, so that the product obtained is devoid of water and sulfuric acid; b) then, if applicable, mixing the sulfonated naphthalene, at least in part, obtained in a) with the naphthalene to be purified; c) and then, react formaldehyde with the sulfonated naphthalene at least in part, to which the naphthalene to be purified will be added, if necessary, d) and finally, distill the naphthalene contained in the reaction medium.
