abstract 1. A process for the preparation of cyclopropane-carboxylic acids of general formula-01 (I) of configuration (1R,3S): **(Formula-01)** in which X represents a sulfur or oxygen atom and n represents an integer equal to 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that it is reacted, within an organic solvent, and in the presence of a strong basic agent, cis 2,2-dimethyl-3S(dihydroxymethyl)cyclopropane- 1R- carboxylic acid, formula-02 (II): **(Formula-02)** with a compound of general formula-03 (III): **(Formula-03)** in which X and n are as defined above, the resulting compound, of general formula-04 (IV): **(Formula-04)** is subjected to the action of an acidic agent, within an apolar organic solvent, and then the compound is subjected resulting, of general formula-05 (V): **(Formula-05)** to the action of a basic agent in an apolar organic solvent, to obtain the desired corresponding compound (I).
