abstract | 1. A process for the preparation of new silver-based catalysts useful in the synthesis of ethylene oxide by oxidation in the vapor phase of ethylene with oxygen or a gaseous mixture that contains it, the process of which is characterized in that it consists of: a ) impregnating a refractory support with a solution of an organometallic silver compound which is a complex of silver salts with cyclic iminoethers or cyclic alkyloxyimines by immersion of the support followed by draining or by distillation of the solvent or by continuous spraying of the same in pressure and temperature conditions that allow immediate removal of the solvent; b) subjecting the product from step a) to a heat treatment in order to release the silver from the thermal compound in order to release the silver from the compound deposited on the support. |
