abstract A process for the preparation, in the form of bases or salts, of heterocyclic compounds of the formula: ** formula ** where R1 represents a halogen atom in position 10 or 11 R2 represents a hydroxyl group and R3 represents a hydrogen atom; or R1 represents a halogen atom in position 10 or 11 and R2 and R3 together form a supplementary bond between the two carbon atoms that carry them, these compounds being in the form of optical isomers or racemic mixtures whose process is characterized by obtain a derivative of formula I where R1 represents a halogen atom R2 represents a hydroxyl group and R3 represents a hydrogen atom by reacting a tabersonine hydrohalogen solution in solution in an alcohol, for 2 to 4 hours, at room temperature and in the presence of a peracid such as m-chloroperbenzoic acid, perphthalic acid or p-nitroperbenzoic acid and to obtain a derivative of formula I where R1 represents a halogen atom and R2 and R3 together form a supplementary bond between the two carbon atoms that carry them , in a classical way by dehydration of a derivative of formula I where R2 and R3 represent respectively a hydroxyl group and a hydrogen atom ene.
