The invention relates to obtaining optically active forms of compounds of general formula I when the molecule includes at least one asymmetric carbon atom. Furthermore, when R1 is a lower alcohol radical, the carbon atom at 4 of the piperidic nucleus is asymmetric and gives rise to the formation of geometric isomers that can be separated and isolated. The compounds of general formula I, as well as their addition salts with a mineral or organic acid, are characterized by interesting pharmacological properties, in particular pronounced hypotensive properties. They show -even intravenously- a reduced toxicity and, therefore, their therapeutic margin is important. |
