titleOfInvention PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING NALOXONE FROM THEBAINE
abstract Procedure for obtaining naloxone from thebaine.- characterized essentially in that it consists of separately obtaining dihydroxycodeinone starting from thebaine, subsequently breaking the phenolic ether of dihydroxycodeinone by means of pyridine salts of a strong acid and within a solvent such as dimethylsulfoxide , demethylating oxycodone, obtaining oxymorphone as an intermediate element, subsequently treating said oxymorphone with alkyl chloroformates, protecting the phenolic group and eliminating the methyl attached to the nitrogen by transformation to an intermediate derivative of the urethane type, obtaining the nor-dihydroxymorphinone by hydrolysis of the derivative intermediate, then producing the alkylation of the nitrogen by unsaturated alkyl halides, obtaining naloxone in basic and solid state, said naoloxone being subjected to a washing and subsequent crystallization, which gives rise to a pure product that is the starting base for the formation of sale s denaloxone.
