titleOfInvention A PROCEDURE FOR THE PREPARATION OF NEW DERIVATIVES OF 4,5DIARIL-2- (SUBSTITUTED TIO) IMIDAZOLE.
abstract A process for the preparation of new 4,5-diaryl-2-(substituted thio) imidazole derivatives of formula: **(Formula)** and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, where n is o, 1 or 2; R1 is C1-C4 alkyl; allyl; vinyl; -CH2COCH3; - CH2S(0)m CH3 where m is 0, 1 or 2; mono-and polyhaloC1-C4alkyl; R2 and R3, the same or different, Y1 and Y2, the same or different, represent hydrogen, hydroxy, C1-C4 alkoxy, acetoxy, C1-C4 alkyl, C1, F, CF3, NH2, -N(CH3)2, N02, -NHC-CH3, CH3S-, CH3SO2- or Y1 and Y2 together form a dioxymethylene bridge; with the provisos that when n=0, 1 or 2 and Y1 and Y2 are hydrogen, R1 cannot be vinyl and when R1 is C1-C4 alkyl, C3-C4 haloalkyl with the halogen in positions 3 or 4, allyl or acetonyl, Y1 and Y2 cannot both be H; with the further proviso that when n is 0 and R is CH3, Y1 and Y2 cannot both be p-Cl and p-OCH3.
