titleOfInvention | METHOD OF PREPARING MEDICINES BASED ON CENODEOXYCOLIC ACID AND THE LIKE. |
abstract | Method of preparing medicaments based on cenodeoxycholic acid and the like, such as its derivatives, said medicaments being safer than hitherto thanks to the inclusion in the medicament of an adequate amount of hyodeoxycholic acid (hereinafter HDCA), being the medicament of the genus that comprises A) a compound of the formula **(Formula)** in which R is -OX, -NHCH2COOX or -NHCH2CH2SO3X, X being hydrogen or a cation that forms a non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable salt, B) HDCA and C) a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle, characterized by proceeding to the purification of pig bile through the steps of 1) extracting bile acids from pig bile with hot methanol, 2) precipitating bile acids from methanol through the formation of barium salts, 3) dissolve the precipitated barium salts of bile acids in hot ethanol, 4) treat the hot ethanolic solution of barium salts with zinc sulfate to form the acids free bile ducts and remove the precipitated barium by filtration, 5) extract the bile acids with sodium chloride and ethyl acetate adjusted to pH 5.5 with hydrochloric acid, and 6) remove the solvent ethyl acetate and recover the bile acids with a higher concentration of HDCA. |
