abstract Disclosed are a composition and process for the production of suppositories wherein a mixture comprising at least one ester out of the group of glycols preferably 1,2-propyleneglycol esterified with one saturated higher fatty acid such as myristic, palmitic and stearic acid and at least one pharmacologically active ingredient is formed, this mixture then is granulated with a solution of at least one film-forming polymer and the resulting granulate is pressed into suppositories on a tableting machine.
