Compounds of the formula I are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula II with an appropriately substituted phenylethyl derivative which has a group which can undergo nucleophilic exchange. The symbols in the formulae have the meaning stated in Claim 1. When R4 in formula I is hydrogen, a compound with R4 = lower alkyl can be obtained by alkylation. The compounds of the formula I and their acid addition salts have mild blood pressure-lowering and selective heart rate-lowering effects. |
