abstract Cyanovinyl phosphates of the general formula where R and R1 are straight-chain, branched, or cyclic C 1-6 alkyl radicals, optionally substituted by halogen or alkoxy, are prepared by reacting a diester halide of formula (RO)(R1O)P(O)Hal with a cyanohydrin of formula in the presence of an acid-binding agent, preferably a tertiary amine. A solvent is preferably present. The products have pesticidal properties.
