titleOfInvention A PROCEDURE FOR PREPARING AN AQUEOUS MOUTH RINSE.
abstract A mouthwash comprises between 65% and 85% water, between 5% and 25% of a non- toxic alcohol, between 0.5% and 3% of a polymeric polyoxyethylene-containing nonionic surface active agent wherein the polyoxyethylene component of the polymer comprises at least 40% by weight of the polymer and enough chloroform to stimulate the taste characteristics of the mouthwash, all percentages being by weight. The mouthwash also suitably contains one or more polyhydric alcohols selected from glycerine, sorbitol and propylene glycol. Anti-bacterial agents such as quaternary ammonium compounds e.g. benzethonium chloride, and substantially saturated aliphatic acyl amides may also be present.
