titleOfInvention PROCEDURE FOR ORGANIC PURIFICATION OF AQUEOUS HYDROGEN PEROXIDE SOLUTIONS.
abstract An aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide containing organic impurities is purified by treating it with an adsorbent, porous, non- ionic synthetic resin which has a, specific surface greater than 100 m2/g. and which has been produced by a polymerization process. The aqueous solution may first be subjected to a preliminary treatment with a cationic resin having a strong acid character e.g. a styrenedivinylbenzene copolymer having a high content of divinylbenzene and containing sulphonic groups. The non-ionic resin is a styrenedivinylbenzene copolymer, and the solution may be treated continuously or as separate batches. The preliminary treatment with the cationic resin and the treatment with the non- ionic resin may be carried out in the same installation as regeneration of the resins. The solution is concentrated to at least 75% by weight of H 2 O 2 and the process is carried out at at least 30 C.
