titleOfInvention | PROCEDURE FOR THE PREPARATION OF BENZODIA-CEPINE DERIVATIVES. |
abstract | Compounds of the general formula (B=CO or CH 2 , n=2-7, R1=halogen, NO 2 , CN, CF 3 or C 1-7 alkyl, R2=C 1-7 alkyl, OH or C 1-7 alkanoyloxy, R3=phenyl, (C 1-7 alkyl) phenyl, halophenyl, nitrophenyl or pyridyl, R4 = NH 2 or protected amino and the broken lines denote optional bonds), N4-oxides of those compounds containing a 4,5-double bond and acid addition salts of the compounds and oxides in which R4=NH2 are prepared by reacting a 1-(alkali metal) derivative of a compound of the formula or an N4-oxide of such a compound in which a 4,5-double bond is present, with XC n H 2n R5 (X=halogen, R5 protected amino), optionally followed by conversion to a compound or oxide in which R4 = NH 2 or a salt thereof. The latter compounds, oxides and salts are hypnotics, sedatives, muscle relaxants and anticonvulsants and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them, alone or together with other (unspecified) active ingredients, in association with a carrier. |
