Thionophosphates and thionophosphonates of general formula in which R 1 is C 1 -C 4 alkyl, R 2 is C 1 -C 3 alkyl or phenyl, R 3 is C 1 -C 4 alkyl and n is 0 or 1, are prepated by reacting compounds of formula (R 1 O)(R 2 (O) n )P(S).Hal wherein Hal is halogen, with a salt of 2,5-dichloro-4-alkylmercaptophenol (e.g. alkali metal or ammonium salt) optionally at elevated temperature. The compounds have pesticidal properties. |
