abstract |
A polymeric microneedle matrix for delivery of macromolecular compounds (APIs) through the skin having multiple microscale solid microneedles, the microneedles consisting of a dry polymeric composition comprising: 15 to 40% by weight of a water-soluble polymer as a binder , less than 2% by weight of a humectant/softener, and less than 2% by weight of a surfactant; and 1 to 15% by weight of the macromolecular compound (API) encapsulated therein, where the % by weight are given with respect to the liquid polymer composition before drying. |
