abstract | A substrate coated with a scratch and abrasion resistant non-stick coating, said non-stick coating comprising: i.) a continuous primer layer adhered to said substrate, said primer layer comprising a polymeric binder, a first fluoropolymer and a first inorganic film of hardening particles, ii.) a discontinuous intermediate coating layer comprising aggregates of particles adhered to said primer layer and distributed discontinuously across the surface of said primer layer to reveal exposed areas of the surface of the primer layer, wherein 5 percent to 20 percent of said particle aggregates are in clusters having a diameter of at least 0.1 mm and a height of at least 0.016 mm measured from the surface of said primer layer primer, and wherein said particle aggregates comprise a second fluoropolymer and second harden particles. inorganic film primer, and iii.) a top coat comprising a third fluoropolymer adhered to said intermediate layer and said exposed areas of the surface of said primer layer. |
