abstract A procedure for preparing the hydrated crystalline form of Olaparib, characterized by: - IR spectrum comprising absorption peaks at 3513, 3163, 1681, 1651, 1438, 1222, 1012, 810, 773, 587 ± 1.5 cm-1; - DSC curve comprising an exothermic peak at 141.5 ºC and an endothermic peak at 210.5 ºC. - XRPD pattern comprising the following 2q peaks (% intensity): 6.36 (29), 6.80 (14), 8.26 (13), 12.61 (65), 13.64 (10), 15.00 (100), 15.81 (14) , 16.38 (17), 16.64 (13), 17.90 (16), 18.61 (20), 18.85 (15), 19.64 (37), 20.00 (19), 21.96 (31), 22.93 (35), 26.07 (30) , 26.78 (22). - Karl Fisher value that varies between 3% and 7% in which the process comprises the steps of: - dissolving crystalline Olaparib in acetic acid, at a temperature that varies between 20 ºC and 100 ºC; - add the Olaparib solution obtained to a polar protic antisolvent, at a temperature that varies between -10 ºC and 50 ºC; or alternatively - add a polar protic antisolvent to the Olaparib solution obtained at a temperature ranging between -10 ºC and 50 ºC; - stirring the resulting suspension for a time that varies between 1 and 48 hours at a temperature that varies between 0° and 50°; - filter the resulting suspension and wash with an antisolvent; and - drying the resulting solid under low pressure at a temperature that varies between 0°C and 70°C.
