titleOfInvention | Micro-RNA signatures for the prediction of liver dysfunction |
abstract | An in vitro method of determining the risk of liver dysfunction of a subject after partial liver resection, said method comprising the steps of: a) providing a blood sample from said subject before partial liver resection, b) determining in said sample the expression level of miR-151a and miR-192, and optionally miR-122, and i. identify the ratios of miR-151a to miR-192, and optionally miR-122 to miR-151a, based on the expression levels determined in b), and compare said ratios of expression levels with the ratios of expression levels of reference, or ii. comparing the expression levels of miR-151a, miR-192 and miR-122 with the reference expression levels, and c) classifying the sample of the result of step i) or step ii) in one of at least two classes , where each class is one of at least two categories of "high risk" and "low risk". |
