abstract | A process for extracting lithium values from a lithium carrier silicate comprises the steps of: a) heating a lithium carrier silicate sludge, from 40 to 2000 kg/t of a fluoride source and from 50 to 5000 kg /t of sulfuric acid at a temperature of 70ÂșC up to a boiling point of the sludge; and, b) washing the sludge with water or a dilute acid solution and separating the solids therefrom to produce a lithium carrier solution (LBS). |
