Ammonia lyase modified phenylalanine polypeptides |
abstract |
A modified polypeptide having phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL) activity comprising: a) an amino acid sequence having at least 85% sequence identity with the reference sequence SEQ ID NO: 4 or a functional fragment thereof same; b) at least one amino acid residue difference compared to SEQ ID NO: 4 or the functional fragment thereof at one or more amino acid positions; and c) showing reduced sensitivity to proteolysis compared to the reference sequence SEQ ID NO: 4, wherein the amino acid residue difference is R305L or R305M when aligned with SEQ ID NO: 4, and wherein the positions of the amino acids are numbered with reference to SEQ ID NO: 4. |
