A soft low water content ophthalmic lens comprising: a base material; and a layer formed of a hydrophilic polymer on at least part of a surface of the base material, at least part of the interior of the layer is crosslinked; wherein the water content of the low water content soft ophthalmic lens is 10% by mass or less; and wherein the tensile modulus of elasticity of the soft low water content ophthalmic lens is 10 MPa or less, wherein the layer is formed by performing surface treatment of the base material with an acidic polymer solution one or twice and treatment with a basic polymer solution once or twice. |
