abstract |
A method for predicting the sensitivity of a subject cancer patient to a c-MET protein kinase inhibitor comprising: (a) measuring the expression level of a Recepteur d'Origine Nantais (RON) in an active form comprising a splice variant or mutant of the RON gene within a biological sample that is obtained from a subject by a detection method using an agent selected from an antisense oligonucleotide, a primer pair, or a binding probe specifically to active RON mRNA or an antibody, peptide, or nucleotide that specifically binds to active RON protein; and (b) determining the subject's sensitivity to a protein kinase inhibitor based on the result that was measured in step (a). |
