A balloon inflation / deflation system (130) for use with an endoscope and comprising: balloon inflation functionality (404) providing a predetermined open loop inflation sequence comprising an automatic inflation sequence (402); balloon deflation functionality (406); and an inflated balloon pressure indicator (FP1); characterized in that the automatic inflation sequence (402) includes at least one continuous balloon inflation step for a predetermined period (T1) once the excess of a preset balloon inflation pressure has been indicated by the pressure measured in said indicator (FP1) of inflated balloon pressure. |
