abstract A method for the production of butadiene-styrene block copolymers by copolymerizing styrene and butadiene in a hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of an organolithium initiator and a modifier, followed by treatment of the "living" polymer chains with an agent coupling, characterized in that in Step (i), styrene polymerization is carried out in the presence of n-butyllithium and a modifier selected from the group consisting of tetrahydrofuran and ethylene glycol ethylbutyl ether to produce a polystyrene lithium block "alive", and in Step (ii), butadiene is added to the reaction mixture obtained in Step (i) and the synthesis of a polybutadiene block is carried out in the presence of a diethylene glycol dimethyl ether modifier ( diglyme), where said modifier is added after the start of butadiene polymerization to produce "living" polystyrene-polybutadienillithium block copolymers.
