A patch-like infusion or self-injection device (100), comprising: a body (332) having a reservoir disposed therein for containing a drug; one or more microneedles (152) for penetrating the skin of a patient with the one or more microneedles in fluid communication with the reservoir; a pressurization unit (140); a plunger (144) movable within the body under a force from the pressurizing unit to contact the reservoir; and indicator means visible outside the device to indicate that drug administration is substantially complete; wherein the movement of the plunger activates the indicating means, and wherein the indicating means converts the movement of the plunger into movement of the indicating means visible from outside the device; wherein the indicator means comprises an end-of-dose indicator (124, 360, 372) that converts the movement of the plunger into movement of the end-of-dose indicator visible from the outside of the device; characterized in that the end-of-dose indicator comprises: a main body; and a signpost (352, 368, 392) connected to the main body; wherein after the plunger reaches one end of its travel stroke, the plunger contacts the end-of-dose indicator due to a force from the pressurizing unit, and a pressure of the plunger against the end-of-dose indicator induces the signpost to extend outside the device. |
