titleOfInvention Systems for the placement of corneal implants
abstract System for introducing corneal implants, said system comprising: a hollow element (120) having a proximal end and a distal end configured for insertion into a pocket within the cornea and having an axial hollow passage (126) that tapers in the distal direction; and an axial pusher (230) disposed in the axial hollow passage of the hollow element and configured to axially engage and advance a constrained corneal implant through the hollow passage, wherein the axial hollow passage includes an inwardly-facing arcuate surface (210 ) configured to flip the edges of the corneal implant radially inward as the insert is advanced axially through the passage, in which the axial pusher (230) includes a flexible carrier for the implant and wherein the wearer has edges that are configured to flip together with the edges of the corneal implant.
