abstract |
An apparatus comprising: a reagent cartridge (408; 700; 1634) having a housing (702) comprising a reagent retention recess (414; 714) and a reagent directing channel (418; 718), the reagent retention recess (414; 714) is fluidly connected with a first sloping surface that connects the reagent retention recess (414; 714) to an outlet channel (420; 720) extending from one side bottom of the housing (702), and the reagent steering channel (418; 718) comprises a first inclined portion (848) and a second inclined portion (850) connecting the reagent steering channel (418; 718) to the channel outlet (420; 720), the second inclined part (850) extends from the first inclined part at a substantially right angle, and in a direction towards the first sloping surface, such that the first sloping surface and the second inclined part converge with each other in the outlet channel (420; 720); and a reaction chamber (206; 300; 406; 506; 600) comprising a plate (302; 402; 502; 602) sized to receive a slide (322; 422; 522; 622), defining the plate (302; 402; 502; 602) a reagent dropping surface (330; 530; 630) to receive a reagent dispensed from the reagent cartridge (408; 700; 1634). |
