titleOfInvention Composition to remove limescale deposits
abstract A method for removing calcareous deposits from a surface, wherein the surface is an area of a well in a marine environment, the method comprising the steps of: a) contacting the surface with an aqueous composition that can be dissolved in seawater , the aqueous composition having a density of between 1.1 g / cm3 and 1.2 g / cm3 and comprising: i) an alkali metal phosphate compound, wherein the alkali metal phosphate compound is present in the composition at a concentration of between 100 and 400 grams / liter; ii) acetic acid, where acetic acid is present in the composition at a concentration of between 25 and 500 grams / liter; iii) a cellulosic thickener, wherein the cellulosic thickener is present in the composition at a concentration of between 0.5 and 25 grams / liter; and iv) a water-miscible glycol solvent, wherein the water-miscible glycol solvent is present in the composition at a concentration of between 50 and 500 grams / liter and b) maintaining contact between the surface and the aqueous composition for a adequate period of time to cause limescale deposits on the surface to separate from the surface.
