abstract Procedure for sterilizing a platelet lysate in a liquid state that comprises at least the endogenous growth factors TGF-beta1, EGF, PDGF-AB, IGF-1, VEGF and bFGF, said procedure comprising freezing said liquid platelet lysate to obtaining a frozen platelet lysate, characterized in that it further comprises irradiation with ionizing radiation of said frozen platelet lysate to obtain a sterilized platelet lysate, said irradiation being arranged to preserve at least 80% of the concentration of at least one of endogenous growth factors selected from the group consisting of TGF-beta1, EGF, PDGF-AB, IGF-1 and VEGF.
