abstract | An in vitro method to indicate the presence of renal interstitial fibrosis and tubular atrophy (IF / TA), comprising the steps of a) detecting the amount of Dickkopf 3 protein (Dkk3) and / or adducts thereof in a urine sample obtained from a mammalian patient to be diagnosed, and b) reach a conclusion on the extent of renal IF / TA of said patient, where a greater amount of Dkk3 protein and / or adducts of the same in said sample compared to the amount detected in a urine sample from a healthy patient is indicative of higher grade renal IF / TA, and wherein said detection comprises the use of a monoclonal antibody or fragment thereof, wherein said monoclonal antibody is the one produced by huDkk3 -16.1, huDkk3-2.13 or huDkk3-24.20, hybridoma cell lines, deposited under the Budapest Treaty on September 8, 2015 at DSMZ in Braunschweig, Germany under the deposit number DSM ACC3274, DSM ACC3275 and DSM ACC3276, respectively nte. |
