A method of processing, by means of a portable health monitoring device, PPG signals including infrared and red average frame signals, IR, comprising: selecting a possible gain value between infrared and red frame signals, IR, multiply the red average frame signal by the possible gain value, and determine the residual error with respect to the infrared average frame signal, IR, whereby the possible gain value is determined: by averaging the two frames together first to provide an average frame signal with reduced noise; performing a linear regression of red versus pooled and IR versus pooled, and then determining the ratio of these two results. |
