abstract An apparatus, comprising: a catheter assembly (230) including an elongated sheath (236) defining a delivery lumen (221) and a bushing (232) in a proximal end portion; a valve containment tube (225) defining an interior region configured so as to be preloaded with a prosthetic heart valve within, the valve containment tube having a distal end portion configured so as to engage with possibility of releasing the catheter assembly bushing; and a handle assembly (220) including a housing (222) and a delivery rod (224), a distal end portion of the housing being configured to releasably engage a proximal end portion of the delivery tube. valve containment, such that a distal end of the delivery rod is disposed within the interior region of the valve containment tube proximally of the prosthetic heart valve, the delivery rod being configured to actuate to move distally relative to the housing, in order to move the prosthetic heart valve disposed within the valve containment tube out of the valve containment tube and distally within the elongated sheath of the catheter assembly, the catheter assembly being configured so that it is actuated to move proximally relative to the housing, so that the prosthetic valve is disposed outside the lumen of the elongated sheath.
