Mutant bacteria for the production of generalized modules for membrane antigens |
abstract |
A process for preparing vesicles from a gram-negative bacterium in which at least one protein containing a LytM catalytic domain is inactivated comprising a step of obtaining vesicles from a culture of the bacterium, wherein: (a) the at least one protein containing a LytM catalytic domain is inactivated by a gene inactivation mutation in the coding region of the gene or its promoter that: (i) reduces the level of mRNA encoding the protein to 0% of that produced by the wild-type bacteria; or (ii) inhibits the translation of the mRNA encoding the protein to 0% of that produced by the wild-type bacterium. |
