abstract |
Process to generate fermentation products from a starch-containing material comprising the steps of: i) liquefaction of the starch-containing material for 0.5-5 hours at a temperature of 75-95 ° C at a pH of 4-6 using : - an alpha-amylase; - an endoglucanase that has the sequence shown as SEQ ID NO: 3 or a sequence that has at least 80% identity with SEQ ID NO: 3 and also has a melting point (DSC) above 80 ° C; ii) saccharification of the liquefied starch-containing material from step i) using a glucoamylase; iii) fermentation using a strain of Saccharomyces, where steps ii) and iii) are carried out as simultaneous saccharification and fermentation at a temperature of 25 ° C to 40 ° C. |
