abstract | A metal press process for manufacturing a porcelain-plated dental prosthesis that includes a supporting metal cap, comprising the following steps: (i) placing a metal cap in a mold; (ii) coating the coping with an opacifying porcelain that can be in powder or paste form, by spraying, a suspension dip or electrodeposition, (ii-a) wherein the opacifying porcelain in powder form has the following total composition of 100% by weight: 53-56% by weight of SiO2, 10-14% by weight of Al2O3, 3-5% by weight of Na2O, 8-11% of K2O, 0-2% by weight of Li2O, 0- 2% by weight of CaO, 0-1% by weight of BaO, 0-1.5% by weight of CeO2, 0-3% by weight of Tb4O7, and 12-17% by weight of ZrO2, obtained by mixing 40-60% by weight of Frit 1 and 30-45% by weight of Frit 2 with 12-17% by weight of Zirconium (ZrO2), where Frit 1 has the following total composition of 100% by weight: 64, 7% by weight of SiO2, 17.2% by weight of Al2O3, 2.5% by weight of Na2O, 13.2% by weight of K2O, 2.4% by weight of Li2O, and wherein Frit 2 has the following total composition of 100% by weight: 64.5% by weight of SiO2, 10.8% by weight of Al2O3, 7.1% by weight of Na2O, 8.7% by weight of K2O, 3.4 % by weight of CaO, 1.8% by weight of BaO, 1.9% by weight of CeO2, and 1.8% by weight of Tb4O7; or (ii-b) where the opacifying porcelain in paste form has the following total composition of 100% by weight: 42-45% by weight of SiO2, 8.5-11.5% by weight of Al2O3, 2- 4% by weight of Na2O, 6-9% by weight of K2O, 0.5-2% by weight of Li2O, 0.5-2% by weight of CaO, 0-1% by weight of BaO, 1-2 % by weight of CeO2, 0-4% by weight of SnO2, 0-1% by weight of TiO2, 0-1% by weight of Sb2O3, and 25-35% by weight of ZrO2, which can be obtained by mixing 40- 50% by weight of Frit 1 and 20-30% by weight of Frit 3 with 25-35% by weight of Zirconium (ZrO2), 0-4% by weight of tin oxide (SnO2), 1-2% by weight of cerium oxide (CeO2), 0-1% by weight of titanium oxide (TiO2), and 0-1% by weight of antimony oxide (Sb2O3), where Frit 1 has a composition as defined for the Opacifying porcelain in powder form and Frit 3 has the following total composition of 100% by weight: 64.5% by weight of SiO2, 10.8% by weight of Al2O3, 8.1% by weight of Na2O, 9, 6% by weight of K2O, 3.4% by weight of CaO, 1.8% by weight of BaO, 1.3% by weight of CeO2, and 0.5% by weight of Sb2O3; (iii) forming the desired finished prosthesis shape by waxing and removing sprues; (iv) coating the shape with an all-ceramic coating material; (iv) burning the wax to form the prosthesis mold; (v) pressing an amount of translucent porcelain component integrated into the mold, having the following total composition of 100% by weight: 63-66% by weight of SiO2, 10-14% by weight of Al2O3, 5-8% Na2O by weight, 9-12% K2O, 0-2% by weight Li2O, 1-4% by weight CaO, 0-3% by weight BaO, 0-3% by weight Tb4O7, 0- 1% by weight of Sb2O3, 0-1% by weight of a fluorescent agent, and which is formed by mixing dentin and enamel frits, said enamel frits have more transparency than said dentin frits, in ratios of 70:30 to 85:15 percent by weight, respectively, wherein a dentin frit has the following total composition of 100% by weight: 64.5% by weight of SiO2, 10.8% by weight of Al2O3, 8 , 1% by weight of Na2O, 9.6% by weight of K2O, 3.4% by weight of CaO, 1.8% by weight of BaO, 1.8% by weight of Tb4O7; wherein an enamel frit has the following total composition of 100% by weight: 64.7% by weight of SiO2, 17.2% by weight of Al2O3, 2.5% by weight of Na2O, 13.2% by weight K2O, 2.4% by weight Li2O; and (vi) removing the molding material for finishing. |
