A method of producing a polymeric polyol dispersion, the method comprising: providing at least one reaction system, the reaction system comprising: a) at least one polyol; b) from 0.5% by weight to 2% by weight, based on the total weight of the reaction system, of at least one phosphorus-based flame retardant having at least one active hydrogen attached to a nitrogen or oxygen atom ; said at least one phosphorus-based flame retardant comprising the reaction product of a reaction mixture, the reaction mixture comprising: at least one polyol; and at least one phosphorus-containing compound having the general formula (1), (2) or a combination thereof: ** (See formula) ** where X is a leaving group, R1 and R2 are independently one on the other, a C1-C8 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxyethyl, C6-C10 aryl radical substituted with C1-C4 alkyl, alkyl substituted aryl, aryl substituted alkyl, nitroalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkoxyalkyl or R1 and R2 together they form R in a six-membered ring, where the six-membered ring has the general formula (3), (4), or a combination thereof: ** (See formula) ** where R is a group divalent linear or branched alkylene containing from 3 to about 9 carbon atoms; c) from 3% by weight to 15% by weight, based on the total weight of the reaction system, of at least one amine reagent having an equivalent weight of up to 400; d) at least one catalyst; and e) at least one polyisocyanate. |
