abstract | A method of varying an overall joint combustion ratio of a combustion system (300), comprising: introducing a first design fuel (304b) and a first fossil fuel (302b) into a gasifier (324) at a first ratio of joint combustion; cogasifying the first design fuel (304b) and the first fossil fuel (302b) to produce syngas; introducing a second design fuel (304a) and a second fossil fuel (302a) into a combustion chamber (312) in a second co-combustion relationship; introducing the produced synthesis gas into the combustion chamber (312); and co-burning the second design fuel (304a), the second fossil fuel (302a) and the produced synthesis gas; and varying the overall joint combustion ratio of the combustion by varying an input characteristic of at least two of the first design fuel (304b), the first fossil fuel (302b), the second design fuel (304a) and the second fossil fuel (302a), wherein the first co-firing ratio and the second co-firing ratio do not change. |
