abstract | A continuous analyte measurement system, comprising: a base unit (1050) configured for mounting on a skin surface; an analyte sensor (500) (808) (1054) comprising two functional faces, a proximal portion (1054a) configured to position within the base unit and a distal portion (1054b) configured for insertion through the surface of the skin, wherein the analyte sensor is configured to generate one or more signals related to an analyte level; and a conductive member (1056) positionable within the base unit and in electrical contact with the two functional faces of the analyte sensor; characterized in that the continuous analyte measurement system comprises means configured to determine an analyte concentration using at least one displacement correction factor associated with the analyte sensor, with the displacement correction factor determined by an algorithm of the continuous measurement system of analytes using a displacement profile; and the displacement profile is programmed into the continuous analyte monitoring system prior to insertion of the distal portion of the sensor through the surface of the skin. |
