titleOfInvention Portal with clues embedded in diaphragm
abstract An implantable port (22) in a patient for administering subcutaneous infusion to the patient including a reservoir body (30) having an opening, an upper portion (30a), and a lower portion (30b) that includes the base of the body ; a resealable diaphragm (28) having at least a lower portion fitted to the opening in the upper portion (30a) of the body (30) to form a reservoir within the body, the diaphragm providing access to the reservoir; an outlet (34) extending from the lower portion (30b) of the body (30) in fluid communication with the reservoir adapted to connect to a catheter (36) to deliver infusions stored in the reservoir; characterized in that the diaphragm (28) has an imprint (28d) configured as identification indicia to convey information about the hole filled with a radiopaque material and covered by a transparent covering layer (28b) so that the identification indicia can be visually appreciated and is visible under radiographic images when the hole is implanted in the patient.
