titleOfInvention Disinfection cap to disinfect a male luer end of an infusion therapy device
abstract A disinfection cap comprising: an outer support structure (101) that forms a first cavity; an inner support structure (102) formed integrally with the outer support structure (101) and located within the first cavity, the inner support structure (102) having an inner diameter that is greater than the outer diameter of a male luer (110), the inner support structure (102) forming a second cavity containing a solution (104) to disinfect the inner and outer surfaces of the male luer (110) when the male luer (110) is inserted into the second cavity ; and a membrane (103) attached to the upper surface of the inner support structure (102), thereby forming a seal to hold the solution (104) within the second cavity, the membrane (103) being pierceable to allowing the male luer (110) to be inserted, through the membrane (103), into the second cavity, characterized in that the membrane (103) wraps around an upper end of the inner support structure (102).
