titleOfInvention System to monitor the use of a device
abstract A system for monitoring the user technique of an inhaler device configured for the administration of a medicament, said system comprising: a microphone adapted to detect the sound produced during the operation of an inhaler device; processing circuitry operable to process a data signal obtained from the microphone, wherein said data signal comprises sensed acoustic information, the processing circuitry is adapted to determine the characteristics of inhalation and exhalation breathing that occur during use, analyzing the temporal and spectral components of the detected and processed acoustic information to differentiate between an inhalation and an exhalation, as a function of the temporal and spectral components, characterized in that the processing circuitry further comprises means for identifying a priming or blistering characteristic of the drug device to identify that a drug is about to be administered prior to an inhalation by analyzing an acoustic signal generated by a lever mechanism of the inhaler device, adapted to release the drug that generates a unique energy profile of the mechanism. or lever related to drug release noise.
