Crushed mineral materials prepared by crushing with particular ceria-containing zirconium crushing beads and their uses |
abstract |
Crushed mineral material prepared according to the process comprising the steps of: a) providing at least one mineral material, optionally in the form of an aqueous suspension, b) grinding the mineral material, c) optionally sieving and / or concentrating the mineral material grinding obtained after stage (b), d) optionally drying the ground mineral material obtained after stage (b) or (c) characterized in that said grinding during stage (b) is carried out in the presence of grinding beads of zirconium oxide containing ceria having: - a ceria content of between 15 and 18% by weight relative to the total weight of said bead, preferably approximately 16% by weight relative to the total weight of said bead; and - an average grain size after sintering of the grains that form said beads with a median diameter of less than 1 µm, preferably less than 0.5 µm and most preferably less than 0.3 µm; - and because step b) takes place at a pH above 7; characterized in that it is in the form of an aqueous suspension and that the water in the suspension is characterized by a weight ratio of ZrO2 / CeO2 of 4 to 6.5, preferably 4.6 to 5.7, and most preferably of 5.3, the water in the suspension passed through a 40 micron sieve contains less than 1000 ppm of ZrO2 and less than 200 ppm of CeO2. |
