An ex vivo cell expansion method, the method comprising: a) seeding the cells onto a hollow fiber substrate such that the cells adhere to the substrate; b) expanding the cells adhered to the substrate; and c) removing the expanded cells from the substrate; wherein the cells are non-germinative non-embryonic stem cells; they express telomerase, are not transformed, have a normal karyotype, and can differentiate into at least one cell type from at least two of the endodermal, ectodermal, and mesodermal embryonic lineages. |
