abstract | Process for producing a horseshoe crab factor C comprising an amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID No .: 2 or having an identity of not less than 90% of the total length of the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID No .: 2 and having factor C activity, which is a recombinant protein that does not have a His tag sequence at the C-terminal end or any other peptide at any terminal end and is obtained from cells of insect as host: the method comprising the following steps (A) to (D): (A) a step of incorporating DNA encoding the amino acid sequence of factor C into a viral DNA; (B) a step of infecting insect cells with the virus into which said DNA has been incorporated; (C) a step of allowing insect cells infected with said virus to express the protein encoded by said DNA; and (D) a step of recovering factor C as a solution and removing the virus using a hollow fiber filtration membrane having a pore size of 500 kDa. |
